"I had so much trouble finding plus sized dresses that both fit and flattered my figure until I started sewing my own. Linen is now my go-to all year round. This is a Vintage Vogue pattern, can't go wrong with a circle skirt, and the linen has great drape!"

So beautiful!
So beautiful!
It's totally refreshing to see a real woman, with a real size, in a fashion forward look. You should get top honors.
Sewcialists Untie!
So awesome! Simple and elegant and I would totally wear it!
Since I can't 'like-button' comments here, I just wanted to thank you all so much for the luv! Thanks for voting for plus-sized fashion that thinks outside the potato-sack ;-) And pls vote up other plus-sized sewcialists in the contest!
So because your competitors aren't all "plus-size" they're not as deserving as others? It would seem you're attacking someone based on their size which, no one likes. It would be great for everyone to play nice.
Beautiful Design!
Well Toni, first let me thank you for your feedback, and apologies if I offended anyone else in thanking my voters, but I have to say plus sized fashion gets very little credibility or attention, even while the need for it increases in the US. (pt1)
Unfortunately, in the main stream fashion world the typical go-to for making somethign plus-sized is "Lets just make everything wider" which causes almost everything to resemble a potato sack, or in some cases a circus tent. (pt 2)
This unfortunate side effect in the fashion world is what leads many of us sewcialists to learn sewing in the first place, because we'd like garments that fit us better, and don't think that being too tall/fat/wide should deny us that privilege. (pt 3)
This doesn't mean every aspiring fashion designer has to cater or kow-tow to us big gals, but its nice to see so many people supporting plus-sized fashion that's a bit different than the mainstream, when the mainstream would just as soon deny I exist. Pt4
I've been voting up other designers in the contest when I have time, b/c voting has been very low overall in this contest which makes me sad for everyone. I've posted a lot of other ppl's pics from this contest to my social media to boost them. pt 5
While I have been favoring the other designers of my ilk in a similar show of solidarity, I've been posting pics from across the whole spectrum of entries, and my intention is not to add to the 'us vs them' mentality that's tossed at the +size already. p6
I've said for years plus size women only have potato sacks to wear. I don't think she is intentionally being dramatic.
As I've been bullied my whole life about my weight & wide-hips since childhood, I'm not interested in insulting others or creating drama during a community building event. I'm sorry if my show of support insulted those who don't share my experiences.
