ELIZABETH'S COMMENTS
Drafted from 1860's tailoring manual and tweaked for the mid-1850's this is a nice, light outfit for sweltering Virginia summers.
Lovely dress, his outfit is also handsome--you both look like you could step back in time and not miss a beat!
Can you share your pattern for this dress? Beautifully done! Where did you find such dark linen?
Beautiful lines, and well fitted. I like the gathered sleeve cap. The under-sleeves are quite elegant.
Lovely! I'm a reenactor as well, and I've never seen a linen Cw dress. I assumed they had them, and always wanted to make one.
That is absolutely gorgeous... And I love the many sewing hands who created it. It is filled with the memory of that. Bravo.
